About

I'm Jason Doherty, a design leader with 20+ years building digital products for organizations that can't afford to get it wrong — enterprise, government, and global brands. I've led design for enterprise dashboards at AstraZeneca, redesigned BC Hydro's enterprise-scale website, modernized government platforms for Alberta Child Services, and shaped analytics tools for Major League Baseball with Google.
I move comfortably between leading teams and designing hands-on — across startups, agencies, and public-sector platforms, on everything from animated one-pagers to complex multilingual systems. What stays constant is a focus on clarity, accessibility, and design that holds up under real-world use.

Summary

I lead UX for organizations where the stakes are real — government platforms, enterprise dashboards, global brands. Based just outside Ottawa, with 20+ years turning complexity into products people actually want to use.
From early-stage startups to large-scale public systems, I bring deep UX maturity and exceptional clarity & timely delivery.

Mission Statement

Good design solves the problem you can see and the ten you can't. I build for clarity, accessibility, and the version of 'done' that still holds up two years later.

Some brands I have worked for over my career.

Personal life

Outside of work, I live just outside of Ottawa with my family, including a bunch of extremely cute cats. I'm an artist/illustrator, an avid reader, and a basketball coach — and when I'm not working on something around the house, I'm probably deep in a video game or a movie. Coffee and good music make my world go around.
